According to new data, the value of Egypt’s exports to Arab nations increased by 8.7% annually to reach $13.6 billion in 2023. According to a statement from Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics, Saudi Arabia ranked first among the Arab nations that imported the most goods from the country in 2023, with $2.7 billion worth of exports from the African nation.
This is consistent with the recent notable expansion of partnerships, trade relations, cooperative initiatives, and development investment between the two nations.
According to the statement, the UAE was ahead of the Kingdom in terms of Egyptian exports, which totaled $2.2 billion. Libya came in second with almost $1.8 billion, Sudan came in third with an estimated $984.4 million, and Algeria came in fourth with $850.3 million. With a value of $1.3 billion, fruits and vegetables were the leading commodity group sent to Arab nations in 2023, according to the agency. Machinery and electrical appliances came in second with a value of $1.1 billion.
Additionally, Egypt was the second-largest exporter of jewelry, mineral oils, and distillation goods to the Arab world, with $1 billion worth of pearls and precious stones, and $753 million worth of gasoline.
In the meantime, the nation exported $712 million worth of manufactured goods and plastics.
Regarding imports, the CAPMAS statement revealed that Egypt’s imports from Arab nations totaled $12.4 billion in 2023, a decrease from $17 billion in 2022. With $5.2 billion in imports valued at Egypt, Saudi Arabia topped the list of Arab countries that sold the most to Egypt in 2023 once more.
